The Spirit The Spirit originally ran from Sunday 2 June, 1940 until Sunday 5 October, 1952, as a weekly feature, created by Will Eisner.

25 December 2004 -Gary Chaloner has received the following information from Denis Kitchen about Will Eisner:
"Will is in intensive care following open heart surgery on Wednesday. Quadruple bypass. He didn't want anyone to know until he came through OK, and all signs are that he is recovering terrifically. Feel free to get the word out to your own network and maybe encourage folks to send Get Well cards to Will's studio address. The doctor won't let him get back to work for 6-8 weeks (placing any side bets?) so he may as well see how many people love him."
Will's studio address is:
Will Eisner Studios, Inc
8333 W. McNab Road,
Tamarac, Florida 33321
